New deal for Morelos, Hastie, Shinnie and a huge week for the club

I posted the other day ‘some people are going to look extremely stupid’ and when it comes to Alfredo Morelos that’s exactly the case. Whilst speculation of Alfredo’s departure for pennies was being pushed the club were busy tying up the Bufalo further

You can wheel out as many useful idiots as you like, you can state he’s worth £5m, £10m or even less (amusing when it comes from people struggling to even count to 10)

You can push the narrative and agenda that he is ‘this’, he is ‘that’

NONE OF IT MATTERS

Alfredo today signed a new bumper deal protecting the clubs biggest asset even further

As our managing director pointed out just last week, It’s £20m before we even answer the phone and I don’t think he’s saying that knowing it’s anything less.

Alfredo has been sensational this year and has produced some of the best performances I have seen from a Rangers striker in recent years. The management deserve huge praise for that as do the board for producing the new contracts and keeping him happy

That takes us nicely to recent speculation on incoming Bosman signings for the club and I will try to answer as a lot of people are asking questions on the speculation

Papers broke the news that Jake Hastie is closing in on his move to Rangers on a 4 year contract. That news took me completely by surprise and the club have moved extremely quickly to seemingly tie up this deal.

Upon that news breaking I asked about it and it is being described as ‘done’. The deal will cost around £350k in compensation

The winger is described as pacey with a great left foot is a move that’s certainly an interesting one. His rise has been rapid in recent weeks as Motherwell have hit form so has the player, with 5 goals in 8 games. Aside of what I have found out since last night he is a player I know very little about

The Graeme Shinnie rumour is one we speculated upon back in November. It has been a well known ‘secret’ in football for quite a while

Here’s the tricky bit, nobody will put their head above water and confirm the deal is done 100%. Everybody is guarded but it seems to be a unwritten speculation that Rangers are in pole position to sign the player on a 3 year contract. It seems to be neither club want it out there or spoke about until the seasons end

Amusingly this could be the second captain we steal from Aberdeen in as many years, so the reason for such secrecy will be to stop them turning their back on ‘one of their own’

Probably worth noting, like Hastie I suppose, that’s it’s never ‘done’ until the player is paraded at Ibrox.

I can’t tell you for definite that either deal is ‘done’ either, but I can say there is people very confident both will be at Ibrox next season.

As the weeks progress it will be interesting to see if we get official confirmation on both either way and if they actually sign

A huge three games, starting with our trip to a Easter Road this evening, spell a massive week in our season.

The push for the league doesn’t relent, even if it looks difficult, as we try to book a trip to Hampden where we will have the chance to stop another clean sweep for our rivals

There’s no wild shouts from the club but we know that if we perform as we did at New Year, we are capable of beating anyone on our day

We will have to be in top form this week as we face three extremely tough opponents. However the squad and the main man up front should be motivated even more by today’s news

Who would bet against El Bufalo doing the business once more?

As everyday keeps proving

Ignore the nonsense, the irrelevant and the noise

Good luck to the famous this week ahead
