Walter Smith was Mr Rangers to me, he always will be. I grew up a 9 in a row boy, when Rangers began to really grab my attention, Walter was of course at the forefront.
A stature, a charisma, a kindness and a desire to win and that he did, he commanded respect and he deserved it. Every step of the way he put Rangers first and made sure he represented the club with the upmost of integrity and respect.
He is everything I want a Ranger to be. The Godfather of our club, a Chairman, a Manager and undoubtedly a Legend. We felt safe with him by our side.
No blog or article I can do will do him justice, I won’t even begin to try. He gave us all some truly wonderful moments in our clubs history. I’m truly saddened by today’s news.
Our club have lost a true Legend, his legacy will be forever more.
Mr Walter Smith, a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather first and foremost.
