Returning Alfredo kills off Kilmarnock

Rangers today welcome Kilmarnock for our first home game of the season, desperate to make amends for Tuesday’s terrible night in Belgium.

It was a horror showing from the team and unfortunately leaves us a mountain to climb. The positive being we can hopefully recover it even if it is a big ask. But that’s to worry about for Tuesday night and we now have four home games to set the tone.

Rangers set up with – McLaughlin, Tavernier, Yilmaz, Goldson, Sands, Davis, Lundstram, Tillman, Wright, Lawrence and Čolak

Substitutes – McGregor, Jack, Matondo, Kamara, Morelos, Davies, Barisic, Arfield and King

Big news is Alfredo returns and must surely get minimum 30mins but on the flip side no Ryan Kent is a huge worry. Let’s hope for more brightness today and a better performance.

Good luck to the team

Match summary –

Rangers were bright first half with a lot of nearly things in first half, summed up by Scott Wright missing a glorious pass as we were 3 on 1 in attack. A deflected shot by Wright and a Lawrence effort off the bar the most we had to show.

Strong start to the second as Čolak finished a great 1-2 with Lawrence to out us in front. Kilmarnock rarely threatened and McLaughlin barely registered a save. Alfredo Morelos killed it off after a great team move which released Matondo.

Alfredo is back and Rangers have 3 points, on to Tuesday.
