Rangers meekly surrendered 3 points for the second week on the trot, against a team languishing at the bottom of the league.
On a bush-tucker trial this week Ant McParland said ‘Rangers, get the blindfolds’, well sadly it seems our whole team were watching & took it far too literally, as we blindly played through this dismal 90 mins.
Yet in the first phase Rangers looked bright, snapping up the second ball & should have been ahead when Miller headed straight at the goalkeeper, in his only telling contribution, after 4 mins. Rangers huffed & puffed without creating anything close to that opportunity.
The warning signs were there as Dundee created opportunities down the right side, With John isolated (Miller anywhere but where he should be) Dundee wasted several opportunities to create but they wouldn’t later on as Rangers would fail to learn their lesson. As Half Time beckoned we lost Morelos to a nasty rib injury after colliding with the post. Herrera came on & offered absolutely nothing which sums up our previous managers regime perfectly.
Two second half goals sandwiched a Josh Windass consolation strike in a largely forgetful second half performance. Rangers switched off & Danny Wilson was caught flat footed from a set piece, & O’Hara grabbed his first. With 20 minutes remaining Windass struck superbly & it seemed we would go on from there.
Sadly however this team simply don’t have the character & slipped behind once more as John was found sleeping. The now Right wing back (where is his marker & our left winger Kenny Miller?) O’Hara ghosted in to take the 3 points for Dundee.
There in lies the major moment, Dundee Manager Neil McCann changed his formation & it paid dividends, Rangers manager less didn’t react & were punished.
It’s clear this squad doesn’t have the resolve, character & strength to wear our Jerseys & the lack of management simply gives them a free pass to put in sub standard performances such as tonight.
As the support suffer once again we have a double header against Aberdeen just days away, sandwiched in between the clubs AGM where the board must simply be asked
‘Where is our manager & why have you thrown the towel in on our season?’
